Let’s Understand Electricity

Electricity is an energy that is created by the flow of electric charge through any material. Electricity can be generated by various sources like power plants, batteries, solar panels, lighting, water, etc.

In today’s world, electricity can be seen everywhere and hence it has become an integral part of our life. We use electricity in home appliances, computers, mobile phones, and even in motor vehicles.

Electricity is all around us–powering technology like our cell phones, computers, lights, soldering irons, and air conditioners. It’s tough to escape it in our modern world. Even when you try to escape electricity, it’s still at work throughout nature, from the lightning in a thunderstorm to the synapses inside our body.

All matter around us is made of atoms. An atom is a very tiny particle that is made up of 3 basic units: Protons (Positively charged), Electrons (Negatively charged) & Neutrons (Neutral charged). Electrons are the primary reason behind electricity and hence the name!
