Measuring with Calipers

To design any missing part first we’re going to think about our part in terms of the orthographic fuse we just learned about. Now we’re going to take some measurements of our missing part so we can accurately reproduce it. And with the variety of 2D views of your objects than try to attempt a 3D perspective drawing. For measuring the best tool for the job is a digital caliper.

Calipers, all that you need to get started. If you don’t have a caliper you can also use a slide rule or a ruler. It just get’s a little tougher to get precise measurements.

So,to start turn on the calipers and make sure that set this to the metric system and then start by front elevation of the object and measure.
